An Interview with Michelle Lane of The Lane Montessori School for Autism

Michelle Lane is the founder and owner of the Toronto Montessori School for Autism, the first program to combine the Montessori curriculum with Applied Behaviour Analysis in the world.  She received a Premier's award for her work with the school in 2005.

Michelle has a bilingual degree in psychology and sociology which she obtained at the age of nineteen.  She later went on to do a year of social work before leaving the field to become a Montessori teacher.

Ms. Lane received a scholar's award for her post graduate Montessori teacher training at Sheridan College and holds an A.M.S. (Early Childhood) credential.

After working for the government doing Intensive Behavioural Intervention, workshops, parent coaching and consulting, Michelle has now taken all of her experiences in the field of autism, since 1993, and has started her own consulting/training company called Michelle Lane Montessori Autism Services.  She is the creator of the blend of Montessori and ABA and wrote a book entitled “Autism – A Montessori Approach” which has been sold to Montessori schools around the world.
